Porcelain veneers in Antalya.
A veneer is a thin ceramic shell bonded to the front of a tooth. Done well, it changes shape, shade and alignment while leaving most of the natural tooth intact — and, from a normal conversational distance, nobody can tell which teeth they are.
Who it tends to suit
Veneers work best on front teeth that are structurally sound but wrong in some visible way: chipped edges, permanent discoloration that whitening cannot lift, small gaps, mild crowding, worn edges from grinding. They are a cosmetic treatment applied to healthy teeth — decay and gum disease are treated first, always.
If teeth are significantly out of position, moving them with aligners before veneering usually gives a better result with less tooth reduction. That conversation is worth having before anyone picks up a drill: enamel does not grow back.
How the treatment runs
- DesignPhotographs, a digital scan and a discussion about what you actually want — which is often not 'as white as possible'. A digital design is produced and, where useful, tried in your mouth as a mock-up before any tooth is touched.
- PreparationA small amount of enamel is removed — usually a fraction of a millimetre, sometimes almost none — to make room for the ceramic. Temporary veneers are fitted for the days in between.
- The laboratory daysThe ceramist builds and characterises each veneer. This is the part of the week where you are free; it is also the part that decides whether the result looks natural or manufactured.
- BondingThe veneers are tried in, checked for shade and shape in daylight, then bonded. The bite is adjusted, and photographs are taken for your records.
Why the material matters
Lithium disilicate (E.max) is used here because it bonds reliably to enamel and behaves well over time in published follow-up. Whatever the material, the bond to enamel is what carries the restoration — which is another reason to preserve as much enamel as possible during preparation.
Afterwards
Veneers are cleaned like teeth and reviewed like restorations. Grinding is their main enemy, so a night guard is recommended for anyone who clenches. The gum line is where a veneer eventually shows its age — keeping the gums healthy keeps the illusion intact.
Fitting it into a week in Antalya
The design and preparation days sit at the start of the week, the laboratory days in the middle, and bonding at the end — which leaves two or three free days in between. Most patients spend them on the coast rather than in a waiting room.
